  1. Brigid, have you seen this yet? The son of Gene Simmons – who is publishing a US action comic – seems to be plagiarizing Bleach – even tracing:
    http://community.livejournal.com/bleachness/446299.html
    The Bleach community is already posting links to publishers, etc.

    Here’s a picture comparison that shows that at least one panel is actually traced:

    – if you can’t click that directly it’s a picture from one of the first comments on that page.

  2. On a more positive note, yay Saiunkoku license if it is so!!

  3. The ANN article says the license was confirmed via twitter, and that its for the manga version, not the light novels.
    That latter part isn’t really that surprising though. Actually, considering how much Yuu Watase stuff they’ve printed, its always struck me as incredibly odd that they’ve never released the Fushigi Yuugi light novels. I even remember how, years ago, I’d just assumed they were obviously going to get released after FY completed ^^;

    Eeeh, that was a derail, sorry. The Saiunkoku anime seems interesting though, so the manga could be quite good.
    It’s quite interesting though – how many manga has Viz published before that weren’t from Shogakukan or Shueisha? The only one that comes to mind offhand is X/1999.

  4. Awww… I’ve been buying the Twelve Kingdoms LNs in hardcover and was looking forward to get similar fare…

    but the bit I saw of the manga in scanlation is good, too.
