Attention bloggers: Anime Boston meetup!

If you’re going to Anime Boston on March 21-23, and you’d like to meet some of your fellow bloggers, check below the cut.

We’re thinking it might be fun to meet up, maybe on Saturday morning, to chat with each other IRL. This will be very informal, probably just coffee in the food court or a nearby diner (suggestions welcome), so even if you’re not going to the show, come and join us. I’ll update this post once we decide on a time and place, and feel free to e-mail me contact info or let me know in comments that you’re coming. Kate Dacey is definitely in, and she says Erin Finnegan, Ken Haley, and Chloe Ferguson are coming as well, so a good time is guaranteed for all.

UPDATE: Urgh. My regular e-mail (brigid@mangablog.net) isn’t working today, so if you wnat to contact me directly, use this one instead: brigid.alverson@gmail.com.

About Brigid Alverson

Brigid Alverson has been reading comics since she was 4. After earning an MFA in printmaking, she headed to New York to become a famous artist but ended up working with words instead of pictures, first as a book editor and later as a newspaper reporter. She started MangaBlog to keep track of her daughters’ reading habits and now covers manga, comics and graphic novels as a freelancer for School Library Journal, Publishers Weekly Comics Week, Comic Book Resources, the Barnes & Noble Sci-Fi & Fantasy Blog, and Robot 6. She also edits the Good Comics for Kids blog at School Library Journal. Now settled in the outskirts of Boston, Brigid is married to a physicist and has two daughters.

I’ve mostly been a lurker here, rather than a commenter, but I’d like to mention that I’ll be at AB, but I won’t be free Saturday morning, because I’m staff—I’m the Manga Librarian, and I’ll be living in the library most of the weekend, barring the odd panel.

If anybody from the manga blogscene comes by the library, give me a holler! I’d love to meet more Boston-area manga fans. This is my second AB as staff, but my first as librarian, and the first year I got to pick out the new books.

Sounds fun but usually in the morning I gather all my supplies and head back to the artist alley XD I’ll be at table 29b so please stop by if you can :))

  3. ScottGreen says:

I’d love to stop by and say “hi”

  4. Erin F. says:

Seems good! I don’t have an art table this year, so I’ll just be wandering around with a mixer and some mics, recording panels and stuff.

Wish I could be there, but I’ll be at AnimeMatsuri in Texas. I and some of the guys from Japanator will be there in spirit! :)

  6. Brigid says:

Hinano and cerusee, I’ll be sure to come by and say hi.

We’ll miss you, Gia! Will you be coming to NYCC?
