As I mentioned this morning, Calvin Reid interviewed Yoichi Irie of Kodansha Comics about his company’s plans to take over the world release manga in the U.S.

Brigid Alverson has been reading comics since she was 4. After earning an MFA in printmaking, she headed to New York to become a famous artist but ended up working with words instead of pictures, first as a book editor and later as a newspaper reporter.     Will Kodansha’s releases be original translations? Or possibly they have the rights to use their previous licensee’s translations…? Have you heard anything in this regard?
